One on One lessons

An individual Feldenkrais session, often referred to as a therapy session, is a non-verbal lesson that employs attentive and gentle movement and touch. Lying on a treatment table , in a comfortable position which decreases the amount of stimulations that the body commonly  experiences, I aspire to discover, through touch and slow light movements, how the students moves his/her body and uses themselves. Once the habitual and futile efforts which accompanies  the student’s movements become more apparent and noticeable, It is then that one becomes open to the possibility of changing and use themselves more freely and intelligently.

Since the  student is in a sensory-motor state of openness, he/she can learn new movement and function possibilities that properly use the skeleton and the self, thus optimally and effectively handle with gravity and other factors that are activated(changes in speed, equilibrium, etc.). The lesson therefore becomes a deep and meaningful experience. Since both touch and movement aim at creating a dialogue with the neural system , changes throughout the sessions are likely to be numerous and varied.  students report higher stability, an increased ability to fall without causing substantial damage to themselves (a particularly significant improvement for the elderly). artists discover new ways to create and improve their work, and adults who suffered neurological or other injuries and motor-problems discover that the quality of their lives heightens since they can live without chronic pains and  limitations.

Working the way I do enables the patient’s brain and neural system to reconnect and stimulate the “learning switch,” thus affecting the patient’s well-being various  aspects of life
